Creation Myth

When the hyena runs,

flowers bloom in her every step,

creating the foliage of the earth.

When the lion roars,

in all its fiery passion,

the sun itself comes into being.

When the hyena laughs,

the world comes to life in her natural beauty.

When the lion shakes his mane,

galaxies quake beneath his prowess.

Down on the plains,

the mighty lion stalks its prey through the brush,

his amber eyes are glowing coals.

Down on the plains,

the hyena lounges, waiting to scavenge,

her eyes are shining diamonds in the African night.

The lion is running,

following the trail of flowers left by the hyena.

The hyena leads him,

taking him down by the river in the middle of the night.

The lion's eyes of coal

meet the glittering diamond eyes of the hyena.

They are separate,

but together in their power.

They are one whole being.

While she creates the green of the earth,

he creates the power of the sun.

Together,

they are earth and sun

man and woman,

father Spirit and mother Earth

as one powerful entity,

creating the known world.
