Creativity Bound (This is why I write)

It starts as murmurs and tickles the mind

It starts as whispers begging to come out

Its a place, a time, not bound by human life

A chorus that tells about more than day to day life

It tells me of adventure, of love never lost, and freedom

This is why I pick up my pen

This is why I write

Those murmurs become shadows, those shadows take on a life

Bound by the shackles of day to day life

"Let us out, tell them our story" the cry in the back of my mind

My pen the sword, the breaker of chains, allows them to take flight

This is why I pick up my pen

This is why I write

Love the last two lines! It really brings the poem full circle.
