The Creature
If only the daggers came from the outside
And not from some strange creature claiming “genetic predisposition”
That ravages inside the gray matter
supposed to be becoming something great
But rather pressing self destruct beyond anyone’s control
The monster comes out by way of blood shot eyes
and empty stomach for days because the creature isn't hungry
Too busy inducing futile terror that causes my lungs to explode
but why do I even need to breathe anyway
Because that monster can breathe all on its own
But we can fix you they claim as they hand over the pills
Just a little rerouting and you'll be just fine
but they lie and forget that the monster never goes away
just screams a little quieter
still screaming
still screaming
