Creature

                                                  I have a creature

a creature encased in a box with tinted walls

for years and years I fought this creature

for days and days I cut this creature

whose blood was full of greed and depression

I thought and thought "I love this creature"

but no one ever taught this creature

                                          what selfishness was

nights went by and I begged this creature

                                      cried to this creature

                                    screamed at this creature

"Please leave me alone dear creature"

the creature merely smiled and said

"the more and more you stare at me, creature, the more and more you take on my features"

I sat and sulked silently to my creature

                              my creature broke my image

                            my creature wrecked my body

                           my creature brought me down

                           my creature fears me now

months went by I told my creature

you will not control me anymore

                             my creature sighed

                             my creature cried

and after all the years I tried

                            my creature finally said

                                   "goodbye"
