Creatures of the Earth

Wild and free,

Halfway down the stream

Tall snow covered sage

Brushed through the plains.

Hoove prints followed down,

Deep, cloyed with mud.

A mare, soft brown eyes,

She looks up to the sky.

Thinks back to when

light did not block the stars.

They glowed with the promise

Of a wolf's howl.
