Creeping

To struggle with sanity

you don’t know if you're being selfish

or if you deserve a break.

Memories flood you,

hurtful ones that make this craziness feel right

then guilt floods you,

shutting you down as you sift through the thoughts

Your eyes scream for someone to reach out,

to help you through this

before it’s too late.

But it feels like you’re losing grip,

no help in sight.

Too scared to ask for it yourself.

So you keep telling yourself to look strong

but it’s hard to do

So further you slip into this lie

until it consumes you.
