Cricket Call

The lonely sound of crickets' call
is the greatest sound of all
In the crickets' soft soul hum,
I hear the beating of a drum
the rhythym of humanity
the silencing of vanity
the peaceful founding of a time
the flaming blossom of a mind.
All of this, inside the very cricket call
On a calm and dark October night.
