Critical Thought

Our mind akin to the mighty sun, is the source

Of human progress and advancements.

It is our greatest tool whether stranded on

An island or trying to find truth within news articles.

It contains our thoughts, feelings, memories, experiences,

But most importantly our mind allows us to think critically.

Critical thought is the only defining feature of

Humans that allows us to call ourselves the “superior species”.

Critical thought is the fountain from which all extraordinary

Discoveries cascade into the ocean of humanity

Where waves of curiosity and creativity collide

Onto the shores of endless possibilities.

Unfortunately, critical thought is apt to stagnate

Fortunately, questions of “Why?” allow it to propagate.

Critical thought like the tides, must never be stagnant

Rather, it must be in constant motion in its relentless

Search for truth, innovation, and progress

Something I cannot live without.
