Cropped Fruit

I am a Tropical Fruit,
Born from the strangest of ways
Colorful yet nappy
Born from the strangest of ways

I have Tropical privelege,
Born in the USA,
Majority rules in my nation,
Born from the strangest of ways

Which path will I choose?
Born from the strangest of ways
Privelege or strange fruit?
Born from the strangest of ways
