At the Cross
A life of sin I once live,
So dirty and so dark;
My ways were but perverted,
So impure and so black;
I transpose God's own nature,
And took on devil's mark;
But all now I can remember,
Is at the cross I surrender.
I strayed from my creator,
And was a slave to sin;
I yield to my desire,
And didn't let Christ in;
But my soul was so burden,
On someone need to lean;
So my heart I had to render,
And at the cross I surrender.
I chase after ruination,
And rambled in darkness;
All I could ever think of,
Were what will bring sadness;
The state I was living in,
Not better than madness;
I sought for a mighty helper,
Till at the cross I surrender.
My ways made God so furious,
Judgement was upon me;
My innate eye was opened,
Jeopardy I could see;
I seek the love of Jesus,
His kindness and mercy;
My life to him I did render,
For at the cross I surrender.
Oh what a joy to know that,
I have been forgiven;
Cause all the sins of the past,
Jesus have forgotten;
For when satan accuse me,
I will tell him listen;
I cannot be in his order,
When at the cross I surrender.
