Crossing the Finish Line

Why does putting yourself out there always get overruled by popularity?

Why does what you say have to be judged?
Why does going the extra mile lose to only one step?
Why does losing feel like heartbreak?

How can words be so timeless, yet so powerful?
How can your appearance and intelligence get defeated?
How can people be so hurtful without knowing it?
How can words of wisdom cheer you up when

When can you win the race, if you never crossed the finish line?
