Crossroads

She was at a crossroads. Yeah it sounded clique, it sounded ordinary, but this, this cross was unbearable. Unhinging her being, unwinding her very morals and character. Maybe her imagination had run mad again, her daydreams found form, but it seemed so real. Possible. Fuck, she was at the cusp of her youth, finally able to have reign of her life why couldn’t it be possible. She stared at the mirror constantly living in her fantasies, could taste the sweet nectar of life. Damn, she knew exactly how Eve felt in that garden. It beckoned for her touch, whispered her name like a lover in the softest of dreams. A siren’s lullaby casting her to temptation. How her mind played tricks on her, this constant war raged on inside as she contained the beast itching, scratching her gut, digging for a way into the light. But it was a darkness that frightened her into the shadows, the possibilities; the damnable desires were too forbidden a palate to taste. But it lingered as she constantly did in the crossroads. A woman of promising future and aching pleasure.
