The Crow

Old friend from long ago

"Listen and follow me"

Whispered he, "Softly go"

Noisy caw, flight so free

Remember that dry creek

Mountain peak, barren tree

Certain worlds are unknown

Now he swiftly departs;

Exploding hearts of stone

Dragging weighted feathers

On skies of shattered glass

Black mass, broken tethers

Lies on pitch colored breath

About days of unrest

One test, succumb to death
