Crown of Thornes

Oh how harsh were we to kill the man who came to save us

Oh how doomed we must be to sleep without remorse

A selfless life was cruelly taken from this world,

a crown of thorns placed above his head

Miles of pain and countless collapses bearing a cross

His crushed countenance no longer resembling a man

Covered in blunt nails, lacerated wounds, and innocent blood

Shallow breaths and asphyxiation followed by complete darkness

An act of love for all the sinners

A sacrifice for the salvation and eternal life of humans

Our faith, gratitude, and love relies on him

He is the resurrection, our life, our saviour

It is up to us to prove him that his atonement was worth it

On earth, as it is in heaven.
