The Crowning With Thorns

The Crowning With Thorns

What agony is this that so proceeds thy death?

That humiliates the humble soul

and washes with thy blood the stains of man.

What form dost it resemble that shivers my creation

and breeds fear in me,

so far distant from thy purity?
