A Cruise by the Chesapeake

A barefoot skip and a hop inside

The bay blowing kisses, right alongside

Sticky night air, bantering my hair

Twenty-One tracks, sing a triumphant prayer

For my magnificant night light

To guide me safely there

A thousand protectors twinkle with delight

Thankful for the peace I found that night

One tiny wave in the sea of headlights

Of somebodies with somewheres they're trying to go

But me, on these nights, I drive comfortably slow

A bodily journey with a destination, though

More a journey for thoughts and my mind to grow
