Crush
Your hand caresses my cheek
Like the flame of a match lighting a wick.
The string burns through every vein
Then, explosions barricade the thick
Shorelines of my blood.
Although they are anchored, I know
There is a gleam
In my eyes;
It’s from the spark, the steam
Igniting between our flood.
I feel a tickle
From the shadow of unshaved furs,
Like no razor would dare tackle
The bushels and spurs
On your face.
Your lips inch with mine
Eagerly and flutter
Like the soft, sweet,
And subtle butterfly patter
Of a camouflaged surface.
Your hands venture on
And tangle in locks of my hair.
We suffocate in seas of passion
Before we finally reach for air;
Friends don’t let friends drown.
