Crushed
I shouldn’t be feeling like this
I have no right
But I’m jealous all the same
Maybe I’m blowing this out of proportion
I don’t know the context
Still
I can’t help it
My heart seems to have made a home in my stomach
I should have known
I shouldn’t have let myself get my hopes up
But you were so sweet
And I thought I had a chance
Did I?
I wish I could ask
But I can’t
Confrontation isn’t for me,
It was hard enough to confess the first time
So I guess I’ll just watch
Perhaps it will go my way
Perhaps it won’t
But I won’t say a word
I’ll just smile and go on as if it never phased me
There’s a reason it’s called a “crush”
