Crush/ed

I fell for a delusion,

Compliments and laughter blurred my vision

My thoughts wandered,

building futures on memories

that never existed

Jaw dropped,

heart shattered,

mind scattered

as you confessed your love for another.

I became the

fake-it-til-you-make-it

poster child,

smiling as you

spoke her name.

Deep down,

I still wonder

what we could’ve been.

But the spark died

the moment

you chose her.
