A Cry of Finality
Listen unto me now my friends,
For i shall not say this again.
Listen to my voice,
As ragged and terrible it may sound.
Listen to this statement.
Listen to my last cry.
I lay here with tears in heart but not in eye.
I lay here with sadness in mind but not on face.
I lay here hoping that my last words to you are heard.
I lay here because I have it not to get up.
I ponder the life I have and the hatred for it.
I ponder sweet death as my turn nears.
I ponder whether or not to go on,
Knowing all that follows is pain.
I ponder the pain of love,
Though I'll never feel it in truth.
I ask of you to help me,
and you destroy me.
I ask of you to accept me,
and you shun me.
I ask of you to care for me,
and you hurt me.
I search for love that cannot be found.
I search for a reason for my suffering.
I search for a life worth living.
But my search I have long since given up.
This is my testimate to you.
This is all I have to say.
This is my last cry to you.
This is all over now.
This is my last cry.
