Crying in the Dark

Imagine a day where your world turns upside down. You witness a tragedy that shakes the whole town. You’re frail and helpless and don’t have a clue And you feel like the entire world’s against you. All alone, crying in the dark, After hearing those corrupt remarks. The images burned inside your mind, The tragic murder has been headlined. Then suddenly the time has come. Your heart is pounding like a drum. You’re called to testify at trial. You know you must make your time worthwhile. All alone, crying in the dark, After hearing those corrupt remarks. The images burned inside your mind, The gruesome murder has been headlined. You’re called up to the witness stand. Silent tears fall into your hand. You know you have to do what’s right, Even if it starts a fight. All alone, crying in the dark, After hearing those corrupt remarks. The images burned inside your mind, The horrendous murder has been headlined. Everyone suddenly stops and stares. You bow your head and say your prayers. The words come out just like a song. The anger bottled up for so long. Then, at last your time is over And you’re glad you weren’t a pushover You held on and didn’t fail, And because of that you did prevail.
