A crystal palace

A crystal palace full of hate A morbid factory takes its place In the shadows of a tree Mrs. Howard says to me Life is too short to find a reason We can’t go on living this way Years are too short to find the seasons When it’s too dark you’ll find your way As crystal tears filled up inside And all her dreams buried alive I asked, if she ever found her way Back home, to where she once was a little girl Who dreamt of a crystal palace full of joy A jaded brick house full of shame A battered safe built up with fame In the right side of her bed Mrs. Howard slowly said Life is too short to find a reason We can’t go on living this way Years are too short to find the seasons When it’s too dark you’ll find your way The birds, they hold their breath and sing for innocence In the billows of a tree Sing for worlds of used-to-be’s And a life full of regrets. With no forgiveness in her chest. She only searched for happiness But now it’s found, eternal rest Mrs. Howard sang to me A most beautiful symphony In her crystal palace she Sang to me of heaven’s promise where We would meet In a crystal palace full of hope
