CULTURE

I can hear my Ancestors voices calling Their voices are engraved in my heart My heartbeats to the sound of them chanting They chant from the pain that made our story Our story is seen thru the eyes of our children Our children who donʻt know the language The language that we had to fight for the generations to come The generations who will continue to be proud of our flag The flag that was pulled down in front of our people The people who worked hard off the land for life LIFE? Well that was hard to imagine after the plentiful amount of death Death from the diseases that tore families apart Families who were taken to Molokaʻi and thrown into the sea because of the sickness The sickness brought to us from (none savages) SAVAGES is what we were called, though love was all we needed Unconditional love for the culture is what we fought for Culture is the story of my life.
