Cumulus Clouds

i was taking stroll across a tightrope
it spanned the greatest of cumulus clouds
i walked back and forth
day by day, hoping that eventually i would be struck down

Then lightning clapped like the hands of god
and i fell and cried as i fell
because i thought I'd hit the ground
but i landed in your arms, which are softer than cumulus clouds
