Cup Of Joe

Your morning routine

when you arrive at work:

Grab a cup of coffee

to get that extra perk.

Your hand around the foam cup,

coffee pouring.

Add the milk and sugar,

your spirits start soaring.

Your mind never thought,

when done with your foam cup,

where it would travel.

To the same place as your old hockey puck.

Every day, every cup

it is all waste.

You create it without a second thought.

All in your haste.

For such a small moment in your day,

that is a big impact you make.

The environment feels it and so will you.

And one day your Earth will shake.

The solution is easy and simple.

Bring your own mug from home.

Use and reuse.  So easy

Your sin, you will atone.

It really is not that hard

if you mean to help with the problem.

No major effort.  Go ahead.

Make your promise solemn.
