The Current Epidemic.

A tiny screen illuminates a fiery passion in our hearts.
Relieving a full-sensory experience through our eyes; alone.
Captured, attached.
Trapped; living a life of a prisoner.
As brilliant colors dance around our fingers, minds fall deeper into a deafening trance.
Appearing dead from the outside- staring motionless.
Distracted thereby ignored.
Close to each other, yet miles apart.
A cold, lost feeling lingers between us, as we unwittingly choose solitude.
Traveling far and wide, experienced staying in the same place.
Painstakingly tiring.
Neck pain, eyes grow blood shot, full body weariness encompasses my being, somehow caused by stillness.
Millions of friends, never spoken to.
Praised for your chosen captured moments.
Funny how a beautiful life may be crafted from a single picture.
Exactly who you want to be, but not truly you.
A facade, an act of sheer deception.
As you draw closer in, you're swallowed by its utter seduction; it's amazing ability to blind, shall always prevail against your weak state of consciousness.
Ruthlessly tempting you to act.
Subtly, diminishing you.
Manipulating, tightening its murderous grasp; lost completely- you.
Oh, how I dread the day.
The day; you glance up, viewing the tangible world, what's known to all as our true reality. For when you do, there will be nothing left to see, no one to talk to, you will at last be alone; like you always wanted to be.
