I

roam

around forever

hoping

she will

catch me

like a camera

and I

could

stay

for

a short

while

I

try to

speak

to her

like

words don't

matter,

like

there's

a different

brand

of different

that is

better

than

them all

She

looks

just like

an oasis

in those

pictures I

keep

in an old

black

and

white

shoebox

under

my bed

She

was

like

ice water

flowing

uphill

and

across my

pillow

on a Summer

morning

when

the room

felt

feverish

I

want to

tell her

she is

beautiful,

but

it doesn't

mean

anything

now

I

will roam

around forever

building homes

atop

waterfalls

I

never

planned to

stay
