Cute but Dangerous
If you killed
someone out there
I know you’d find a way
out of it
you’ll toss your hair
straight as the horses’ manes
that you smirked at me once
for coloring
wrong
but I know
you can do the splits better
than I could ever dream
you’re awesome
I’m not
for failing
the test you aced
last period, in math
we ignored each other
again
this week there’s a reason
I’m sitting alone
pretending to look busy
proving to nobody
that I’m as good as you are
at dancing and drawing
and keeping best friends
you stole from me
the loner of the crowd of course
she likes you more, you’re cooler
and funnier and happier
you stole her from me
the kid that looks back
in my bedroom mirror
doesn’t dare wear pink anymore
she’s dead and buried
you found a way out
and you slammed the door
shut up we haven’t met before.
