Cuts Like a knife
Homelessness is a shameful disease
Nobody expects to be there
One minute you're in society then your slammed living in poverty with fear
Homelessness is a vicious cycle
Spiraling in circles stuck and falling down
Struggling to get back up before hitting the ground
Keeping up with the Joneses always aiming to please
But when you're down and out and homeless people treat you like you have a disease
See I became homeless irresponsible I didn't pay my bills
Too busy wanting to party doing drugs and loving the thrill
With hard work a ton of effort not giving up and support
I was able to pull myself out leaving that life behind move forward and abort
A couple years have gone by, working hard blessed, life is treating me well
Then out of the blue Covid-19, the Pandemic hit throwing me back into Hell
How is this even possible? The struggle is real working my hands to the Bone
Just to live under somebody else roof but at least I can call it my home
I'm an independent contractor working under a platform in which they take 65%
Work long hard days and can barely pay my rent
The Pandemic hit hard financially I'm fucked
I've applied for all benefits and relief and I can't even make a buck
All doors are shut closed backs turned I'm broken
As I slip into homelessness where the doors are always open
So thanks to my Government and Covid for stealing my Sun
For failing me and throwing me back to the streets I just came from
Why should I back my Country who doesn't seem to care?
What you're doing to us citizens it not right unjust and unfair
Take care of your people President Trump in this time of destruction and despair
Instead of spending taking care of other countries and when were in need it's not there.
