Cutting Deep

I remember the feeling when the blade scratched deep across my skin,

How this pain dulled the pain in my heart as silence filled within.

It was a love that could kill the hurt,

but only for a while.

Listening to the sound of the ocean,

Feeling the breeze brush off the sea,

SCREAMING the anger into the sand,

in that moment.....feeling FREE.

Dizziness crept into my soul,

seeing a light (I want to be there).

Forced back to reality,

longing to be held,

finding I'm alone,

repeating itself as I condone a deeper cut,

a satisfied feeling of being numb.

Flashes of  the previous sensations rush over me,

once again......the light I see,

peace from the highest power

Disey Dise

HI, My name is Ladise. I was born in Queens, NY. I have been writing since I was little. I have always had a love for English Literature and Poetry. My favorite poets are Maya Angelou and Edgar Alan Poe. Two very different poets that I love for two very different reasons. I am a person who has always found it hard to express myself, so poetry is how I do that. I love feedback and I take criticism very well. So please feel free to leave comments. Thank you and God bless.
