Cutting Temples

Vaulted trees, A Cathedral over my head, Its branches, flying buttresses, Protect me. Grey, crumbling bark And hundreds of rings and branches, Seemingly thousands of feet above my reverent head, Tell the tale of time And the time for all things to end. The execution commences, The age, old Cathedral crashes around my feet.

A childhood experience that I over-dramatized then. but I see that it still has meaning for me even today.
