The Cycle of Hope

*The Cycle of Hope* Last winter while crossing the bridge Wondering why it passed over plains Fine lines and grains of patted sand Looked well Polished by nature's hand There passed a river in its prime Flowing gracefully, meandering with life Bringing hope to both near and far Bridging places where people unite When time changes, the heart despairs As hope is dashed, the mind surrenders The tunnel is long, with no end in sight If there's a pulse, it can breathe again Keep the vision, when the limbs are weak Ignite the passion burning from the start Be weak, fall over, but don't kill your dream If the river reawakens, so can you The sun will rise, up the magnificent sky The birds will chirp at the glorious dawn The river will flow with water so pure And the fish forgotten will swim again
