The D-Day
Somebody up there watches me,
Down a tall glass of bitter
While Virat scored his 35th Test-hundred,
At the Centurion,
I did not applaud.
My mind engaged elsewhere,
Counted the days I have lived,
And yet to live,
As though I knew when I would die.
There will be a big celebration on that day;
You must join us in that brief event set on me,
It will be a day to remember,
The day I am due to die.
