Dad

A tight squeeze during our goodbye hug

You work so hard

Spend long hours to provide for me

Weeks and weeks away

I miss your smile and the wheeze you do when you laugh

Come home to me

Work is miserable for you

But you put a smile on for your family

But I can see right through it

I know you are sad

I know you miss being home

For birthdays and sporting events

But you put your family first

So you push through another day

And give another goodbye hug

To provide for me and put food on the table

I love you dad.

You inspire me to pursue my education.
