dad?
hit me right in the heart
where it hurts
you know it hurts there
breaking through the skin like im a game to you
you left us like i was a game to you
but its just a scar now
you gave me your hand
your hand much bigger than mine i long to hold to my cheek
and you held it to my pain and made it better
and i screamed at the world how my heart ached out of love for you
skin breaks
cracks
in my
mind
teeth marks in my reflection now
an image of you when they talk about bad parenting
but what about the bandages
what about the meals and the love
your paintings and your hugs at the airport
looking at the moon, wondering if you are too
im your favorite, remember, dad?
please make it stop
i love you it hurts dad it hurts
