Dad
You ever think to yourself what could I do different?
Someone like you I bet you don't even consider it
Because your perfect right oops I almost forgot
Your too good for your family you left you daughter sitting out to rot
Then you come back thinking that id be happy
But I got shit to do so can you make it snappie
But even better yet dont even bother to come
You're prettty good at that right dad? thats why you're the living deffinition of scum
and then you claim that you will always be there for me
Then where were you at my second grade spelling be?
I didnt win infact I did pretty bad
But thats only cause I was starting at the audience looking for my dad
But you didnt show up and I sat there thinking was there something I couldve done different?
I started to panic and I thought it was something that I did
But what makes a parent not show up for your kid
But im older now dad and I want you to know
That I dont think about you at all anymore
And I know this letter contradicts that
But someone smart told me you gotta talk about your issues to let go of your past
For years I tried to hold all inside
But then I noticed my empathyf for others started to die
All I wanted all these years was to hear from you
Then I get a letter from other daughter and I saw it as a break though
She talked about how her dad wasnt really a bad guy
And that he made mistakes that he truly regrets inside
She talked about how I was a secret like a old memory that he dismissed
If your life is so great why fuck em I on your mailing list
But the shit she said showed me how much you dont care
And that you had another family that you stayed for that shit aint fair
I will never forgive you dad
SHIT why do I keep calling you that
But you know what Ive grown has a whole
I haven got future plans and my head it set on a goal
And i dont see you anywhere within my plans
Maybe its cause you couldnt step up to the plate and be a man
And I hope you read this and know
This isnt me starting to let my feelings show....
This shit is old news Im just finally letting it out
But now im grown and this time i reall have no doubts
that this will be the last shit I ever say to you
considering all the shit you put me though
and one last thing dont even reply to this
Look at it as if I gave you a free dismiss
you should be happy right thats what you always wanted
well it looks like now you finally got it
