Dad

Scared I was

To walk down those stairs
To bang on the door
To see if you were there
I guess I was timid and shy and just couldn't speak up
So I'd run to my grandma and she'd come wake you up
If i was lucky we could shoot around
Go hit up the park
But pretty soon the key became just another piano part
I ain't mad tho
Cause Life happens
Sometimes you gotta let it go cause we're not the captain
Just imagine
The man i'd be had you truly been around
You're too busy to call, and you hate being compared but your brother could call me from a war so you see how that sounds ..
Right?
It's fine I don't need no reparations
Tipper, Antar, and Reginald gave me plenty of inspiration
I'm grown now so I'm done putting up with it
For my own growth I gotta stop being so forgiving
So my list is my list and you're not at the top
And I'm not on yours so this is where it stops
It's kinda like a bad break up, but I ain't sad
I'll always love you, whether or not you decide to act like my Dad
