Daddy
A mothers eyes
Broke with pain
As she tries
To explain
That no
That's not daddies plane
And no
That's not daddies train
She gives her child a kiss
Tells him
Close your eyes, and make a wish
Because it's your birthday my prince
She knows that he wants daddy there
He doesn't think that daddy cares
She closes her eyes
It's not fair
A knock on the door
An envelope being held in the air
By a man
Looking sad
He looks at the little one
It's about his dad
Her heart turns into a concrete pad
Three words
I'm sorry ma'm
She holds everything together
Her heads feels like a feather
He always said he'd come back
Through good or bad whether
But they took him from her
Forever
Sometimes she smells his cologne
Just to feel like she's not alone
But then there's the little boy
Keeps her heart from being all stone
But she still hasn't told him yet
That no
Daddies not coming home
