Daddy.
Daddy,
I wish you could get to know me. See the things that I see.
I wish you wanted to see me. Help teach me who to be.
I wish you had tried to find me, to know who I was.
I wish you had wanted to love me, after all I am your blood.
I wish you had wanted to earn the title that you have.
But because your not here, you'll never be my dad.
I had dreams about you when I was little.
Conjuring up your face.
But when I learned the truth, I felt nothing but disgrace.
You are not a man worthy of the love that I could give.
Because you refused to be around, when I was a little kid.
These last 18 years you never were around.
But just so you know, I'm happy and I'm sound.
I wanted to have a daddy, some one to run to when I'm scared.
But the things I've heard about you, I wouldn't have even dared.
I wanted to be daddy's princess, and for you to be my knight.
But because of who you are, you never put up the fight.
I always wanted my dad to clean his gun on my first date.
And to tell him that if he hurt me, death would be his fate.
I always wanted a protector, like a Daddy should always be.
Luckily I'm a strong woman, one that you never did once see.
I'm not a little girl now, I'm 18 and almost grown.
My name is Rebekkah hope, the girl you've never known.
