Daddy, I'm Scared

Daddy, I’m scared.

There’s a monster under my bed.

And i hear his claws and his deep growl.

Daddy, I’m scared.

But you’re my brave knight!

And you turn on my nightlight

And tell me I'm okay.

I'm not scared anymore.

Daddy, I’m scared.

The monster is not under my bed, no. he is in my bed.

And i feel his cold fingers graze my skin.

Daddy this monster has no ears because he can’t hear me say “no”

And i know i thought he was the one, he even bought me a ring.

I tried telling people about it.

But they asked if he was my boyfriend

I said it shouldn’t matter, i said no.

They asked me what i was wearing.

I said it shouldn’t matter, i said no.

They asked how much i had to drink that night.

I said it shouldn’t matter, i said no.

Daddy, I’m scared.

The monster is not under my bed, nor is he on my bed.

No, this time the monster is in my head.

And he is telling me that no one will ever love me because of what he took.

That i am broken and worthless and I am better off dead.

Daddy, I’m scared and i don't know what to do!

I don't want to live like this.

I don't want to live…

I’m just scared, Daddy.

Goodbye.
