Daddy of Mine

Cold wind blowing.
Chills run down small spines.
I turn around, you're gone.
We never got to...
go to dances or play ball.
No Christmas presents or Birthday cards.
No visits. No "I love You's!"
Lies pierce like knives.
No heart left, for you to break.
Years pass. No dad to hold me or wipe away my tears.
Like magic you appear. Move in.
Expect me to trust and respect you.
Why weren't you there?
All of those years.
The laughter and the tears.
You abandoned me, a dog on the side of the road.
The best worst dad ever, That's You!
Daddy of mine, why did you leave?
Daddy of mine, please, stay mine forever.
