Dads

What is a dad? Is it someone who is there for you with unconditional love? Is it someone who would do anything for their children? Is it someone who is supposed to be a knight in shining armor for their little girls? But most of all I thought it was someone who was supposed to set an example of the kind of man the daughter wanted to marry someday. Why would I love someone, when the love is only shown during the day? Why would I love someone who say things at night, that they shouldn't, but doesn't remember it in the morning? Why would I want a knight in shining armor when his castle is a bar pounding down drinks? Why would I want someone like that rescuing me? Why would I ever want a man like you? What kind of example are beers and bars? How can I expect you to be there for me, when you can't even be there for yourself? The one thing I can say is that you did everything you could to make us happy. All I ask is why weren't we enough for you? Why couldn't you just stay away from alcohol and stay out of trouble? But above all why couldn't you be my knight in shining armor?
