Daily Fears

Heavy and cold around my neck

Two deep heavy breaths

I shut my eyes and listen close to quickly check

A nod and shutter- a few more tests

I know it wont be long now before recovering

Heavy and hot in my hands

Quiet now, just relax

I shut my eyes and listen close as the cuff expands

A nod and a shutter-for there will be no relapse

I know it wont be long now before recovering

Heavy and metal in my pocket

It’s gotten me through the day

I shut my eyes and listen close to the day’s composite

A nod and a shutter-my trouble now at bay

I know it wont be long now before regressing
