Daily wonder
I sit and wonder “why don’t the walls move?”
They’d have more freedom
They’d have a course that could change
But they just sit and hold the weight
Why do the windows open wide
When they could stay closed
And keep the warm air inside?
Does the knife have to cut
Just because it is picked up?
Does a door have to open
Just because another has closed?
Do I have to think
Just because you spoke?
Please don’t make me worry
Over the thoughts your words will convoke
Will it die, just because it began?
Will it live, just out of circumstance?
I sit in the silence and wonder
I exist, do I need to question it?
