Daisy
I put a daisy on your doorstep
I know you dont know it was me.
Maybe you thought that it was beautiful,
Maybe you didnt see.
I found it in a field of roses
An understated perfection
and I thought of you,
Like I always do
Someday I'll learn my lesson.
I know I ended its life to make you smile
I know you wouldnt approve
but with every broken beat of my heart
I die a little, too.
It was barely even visible
Overlooked by roses it'll bever reach-
On second thought maybe
You're not the daisy
I'm the one who will never be seen.
I put a daisy on your doorstep
But now I know you didn't notice
Because who would choose a daisy
In a field of roses..
