The Daisy
The Daisy;
You met me under the stands
Your eyes were a bright green
You were wearing a hat
I always loved you in hats
We smiled a lot with each other
I thought you were adorable
I still don’t know what you thought of me
You dated my best friend
You rebounded to me
I accepted it as fate
Me being given her table scraps
I still was so happy to text you all day
Every morning was beautiful
Because you called me beautiful every morning
I didn’t care what we were talking about
I just wanted to talk to you
We were on and off
Two years of constant making up and shutting off
I was always the cause of the stop of our “friendship”
I was never ready for anything more
I was so scared of commitment
That I let the best thing to ever come my way
Fall for another girl
I fell in love with you two years too late
Surrounded by our friends
Watching ridiculous movies on netflix
You were being your silly self
On the couch next to me
All I wanted to be able to do
Was put my head on your shoulder
We had a tickle fight
We played Just Dance together
You beat me terribly
You drove me home the next day
You fell in love with a girl
A girl that loved you back
The second she met you
I wish I could’ve been that girl
I wish I could’ve known what I had
Before it was gone
Because your smile
Makes my world spin
And I am just another daisy in the patch
While she
She is your rose
I wish I would’ve risen to the occasion
While I still had the chance
Because now I would never want to be
With anyone else but you
I’m in love with you
And I can’t change that
I’m in love with our friendship, too
So don’t go changing that either
Just because you know how I feel
You continue loving her
If she is your rose
I will be the daisy that holds her up
To be with you
Because as long as you’re happy
I can catch a little sleep at night
You are perfect
Stay that way
You are happy
Stay that way
You are loved
You will never not be
Because I will always love you
Until the day that
This daisy dies
Giving to your happiness
