Damaged

A person who sees you hurting and does not experience hurt themselves, should not be in your life

Your deepest cries and loudest weeps should feel like a knife being wrenched into their stomach

A healthy relationship is not measured in the amount of fights you have, rather the amount of times you pick each other back up again

Too many relationships are left in shambles because the two people don’t have enough respect for one another to swallow their pride and say, “I was wrong, I’m sorry”

There’s a fine line between “be safe tonight, I love you” and “if you do anything I don’t approve of, we’re done”

Being worried yet trusting vs. overprotective and jealous is something so gray and undefined, you only realise it happened after the damage is done

A healthy relationship is putting the other person’s needs and happiness before your own

Coming home after a long day at work, and despite being utterly exhausted, making dinner because your significant other isn’t feeling well

Spending your last few dollars buying them a bouquet of flowers, knowing you could have gotten yourself a ticket to the football game tomorrow instead

A relationship without communication is like a fish without water

It has no chance of surviving and feels as though there’s no hope

A simple text saying “hey, I won’t be home until later, out with the guys” is so much more meaningful than waiting until you got home to make up excuses and leaving the other person feeling stood up and alone

The saddest part of it all is you don’t realise you were in a toxic relationship until the relationship is over and the damage is done

Don’t be that person, it sucks
