Damaged Heart

Waiting for you

Is to wait forever.

How long must

I wait, for you

To smile again?

You have been dealt

A crushing blow

Had the air snatched

From your lungs,

Lost and lonely,

Learning to breathe again.

Learn to breathe without her

She is gone

Learn to smile without her

She is gone

To laugh without her

She is gone

To be without her

I am here.

A bird without wings cannot fly

A lion without claws cannot hunt

A man cannot take a woman

Into a damaged heart
