Damn the Pied Piper: I seek refuge.

Curse that man and his wretched song

Damn them all as they play along

For I remain resolute in this house

I am not a Rat but a proud little Mouse

I am not the one who is making you sick

Do I not have my own wounds to lick?

If only you could understand

The needs that brought me to your land

Searching for food and avoiding prey

Surviving the odds night and day

Hiding on boats and crossing the sea

YES! I did this, little old me!

I almost drowned when my ship capsized

And now you wish to see me excised!

Or at the very least to leave your domain?

No! I am here, and here I remain.

It is not that I cannot see your perspective

Or respect the will of the greater collective

But I will not follow this enchanting death song

Because here I survive so here I belong!
