Dana's Left

You're growing up,

before my eyes.

You were the size of a cup,

but now I have sighs.

Because I'm gonna miss,

miss you being small.

You always want to be held, this,

I'll never let you fall.

I'll always be here,

no matter what happens.

You can always tell me your fears,

please don't feel misshapen.

For you are perfect,

in every single way.

I vow to always protect,

and to never stray away.

You're not only my daughter,

but my best friend.

I'll never let you drown in the water,

and I'll always be your land.

The solid rock,

that you stand on.

An untimed clock,

that will be here every dawn.

I love you,

always remember that.

This life you'll make it through,

don't run away like a cat.

Dana, you are a blessing,

more to me than you'll ever know.

The left side of your brain may be missing,

but no one could really know.
